Rebecca Beets, 55, was found dead Monday in Greer, South Carolina, after being reported missing earlier in the weekend, authorities confirmed.

Greenville County deputies responded to Novelty Drive after discovering Beets’ body in a wooded area. She had last been seen on Saturday walking near the same location. Drone teams from the sheriff’s office assisted in locating her.

Beets worked as a Preschool Special Education Assistant at Greenview Child Development Center, part of Greenville County Schools, since March 2024. Colleagues and community members described her as dedicated and caring in her role supporting young children with special needs.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office is investigating her death as suspicious, and an autopsy is scheduled to be conducted on Tuesday. Officials have stated that the investigation remains ongoing as they continue to gather information surrounding the circumstances of her passing.
