Fatal Green house fire deaths of Thomas Ray and Marcia Ray – Obituary

Thomas Ray, 85, and Marcia Ray, 83, died January 3 from injuries sustained in a residential fire in Green, Ohio, authorities confirmed.

Firefighters were called to the Rays’ home on the 3000 block of Myersville Road around 5 p.m. Upon arrival, the couple was found and transported to a hospital, where Thomas Ray succumbed to soot, smoke inhalation, and thermal burn injuries, while Marcia Ray died from soot and smoke inhalation.

The fire also claimed the couple’s dog, though four cats managed to escape. Two other residents of the home were not present during the blaze.

The State Fire Marshall’s Office, with assistance from Green fire investigators, is leading the investigation into the cause of the fire. The American Red Cross is providing support to other residents displaced by the incident.
