Tyron Walker dies in fatal Katye Street shooting

Fatal Katye Street shooting death of Tyron Walker – Obituary

Tyron Walker, 46, was killed in an afternoon shooting outside a neighborhood grocery store on Katye Street, according to law enforcement officials.

Police said the incident occurred around 2:11 p.m. on January 2, 2026, at S&G Grocery located at 1729 Katye Street. Officers responding to reports of gunfire arrived to find Walker suffering from a gunshot wound outside the store. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators determined that the suspect exited the business, fired a shot that struck Walker, and then fled the area on foot. Following an investigation, authorities identified the suspect as 43-year-old Antonio Finklea.

Finklea was later located by police, taken into custody without incident, and transported to Metro Jail. The case remains under investigation as detectives continue to review the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
