Fatal St. Bernard Parish motorcycle crash death of Antonio Verrett – Obituary

A New Orleans man lost his life early Tuesday morning when his motorcycle struck a tree in St. Bernard Parish. Louisiana State Police reported that 51-year-old Antonio Verrett was riding his 2014 Honda CBR 1000RR eastbound on Louisiana Highway 46 near Chalmette Avenue when he lost control for reasons still under investigation.

Verrett was ejected from the motorcycle and collided with a tree. Despite wearing a Department of Transportation-approved helmet, he suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities collected a toxicology sample as part of the standard procedure for fatal crashes, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing. Louisiana State Police reminded motorcyclists to prioritize safety and consider enrolling in approved motorcycle safety courses to reduce the risk of serious accidents.
