Arturo Martinez Jimenez, 54, of Brewster, New York, was killed early Monday morning while walking along Interstate 684 in North Salem. The tragic incident occurred around 2 a.m. on January 5, 2026, near mile marker 24.3, just north of Exit 8 at Hardscrabble Road.

According to state police, Martinez Jimenez was walking in the left lane of the southbound highway when he was struck by a vehicle traveling in the same direction. Emergency responders closed lanes temporarily to handle the scene and begin their investigation.
