PROVINCETOWN, Mass. — Christopher Burroughs, 60, of Attleboro, was killed Sunday afternoon when the Cessna 172N he was piloting crashed and caught fire at Provincetown Municipal Airport. The single-engine aircraft went down around 3:15 p.m., authorities said.

Burroughs was the only person on board at the time of the accident. Provincetown police and firefighters arrived to find the plane fully engulfed in flames. Officials confirmed that Burroughs did not survive the crash. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
