Fatal Boise pedestrian crash death of Donald Priddy – Obituary

Donald Priddy, 66, of Boise, died early Monday morning, Jan. 5, after being struck by a vehicle on State Street late Sunday night. The Ada County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Priddy succumbed to blunt force injuries despite attempts to save him at the scene.

Boise Police said the incident occurred around 10:43 p.m. near the intersection of State Street and 23rd Street when a vehicle driven by 49-year-old William Sweet of Caldwell veered off the roadway. Sweet drove across the grass and sidewalk, striking Priddy before the vehicle ultimately came to rest on a front lawn.

Sweet was taken to a hospital, where Boise police conducted a DUI investigation. He was later arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on a felony charge of aggravated driving under the influence. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
