Estanislo Garcia, 75, was killed Sunday evening while crossing a street in the Florence area of Los Angeles, authorities reported. The crash occurred around 5:49 p.m. at the intersection of San Pedro and 83rd streets.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a vehicle traveling north on San Pedro struck Garcia as he walked westbound within a marked crosswalk. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver remained on site.

The Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner confirmed Garcia’s identity on Tuesday, and the incident remains under investigation.
