GLENROCK, Wyo. — Gavin Stanek, 55, died Monday night when his Cadillac Escalade went over a bridge rail and caught fire on Interstate 25 near Glenrock. The crash occurred around 9:13 p.m., according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Authorities reported that Stanek’s vehicle drifted into the median near milepost 156 before striking a bridge retaining wall. The Escalade then scraped along the rail, went over the edge toward the river, and rolled onto its roof on the river embankment, where it ignited. Investigators noted that driver fatigue or falling asleep may have played a role. Weather and road conditions were reported as clear and dry at the time of the accident.
