Fatal Fredericksburg, Virginia car crash death of Hunter Lee Robbins – Obituary

Hunter Lee Robbins, an 18-year-old from Fredericksburg, was involved in a serious two-vehicle crash on January 1, 2026, that resulted in multiple injuries and a complex investigation. The Fredericksburg Police Department reported that the incidents occurred in the early morning hours near Plank Road and I-95.

Authorities said the crashes involved a red Nissan pickup carrying six people—four adults and two juveniles. Evidence at the scene suggested alcohol played a role in the accidents. In the first collision, the Nissan struck a white Subaru traveling through an intersection on a green light. Minutes later, the same vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer entering I-95 North.

He was taken into custody and faces numerous charges, including felony hit and run, reckless driving, driving under the influence while under 21, assault resulting in serious injury, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Hayden Rounds, 20, was charged with felony hit and run as a passenger. Several occupants of the Nissan were treated for injuries, including one with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Additional citations were issued for underage alcohol possession and obstruction.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing as authorities continue to review evidence and statements from those involved.
