Fatal Cheektowaga, New York car crash death of Joan Lewis – Obituary

Joan Lewis, a 91-year-old resident of Cheektowaga, was killed Tuesday afternoon in a head-on collision on William Street near Colton Street. Emergency responders were called to the scene around 1:15 p.m. following the crash involving two vehicles traveling in opposite directions.

According to Cheektowaga Police, a 2003 Honda Accord driven by Joan Lewis drifted over the median and collided with a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. First responders performed life-saving measures and transported Lewis to Erie County Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The driver of the Jeep fully cooperated with authorities, and the exact cause of the accident, as well as the circumstances surrounding Lewis’s death, remain under investigation. Police have asked anyone with information about the crash to contact Lt. Brian Bzibziak at Cheektowaga Police.
