Kenneth Cook dies in fatal Lindenhurst pedestrian crash
Fatal Lindenhurst pedestrian crash death of Kenneth Cook – Obituary
Kenneth Cook, 77, of Lindenhurst, was killed Monday night while attempting to cross Montauk Highway, according to Suffolk County Police. The incident occurred around 7:39 p.m. between South Wellwood and Washington avenues.
Cook was first struck by a 2021 BMW X5 traveling eastbound, driven by 73-year-old Ronald Nunn of Babylon, and then hit by a westbound 2014 Ford Explorer driven by 20-year-old Emma Pollard of Lindenhurst. He was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead.
Neither driver suffered injuries, and both vehicles were impounded for safety inspections. Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the crash to contact the Suffolk County Police First Squad at 631-854-8152.
