Fatal Shelton, Connecticut car crash death of Oliver Armando Cruz-Ortiz – Obituary

Oliver Armando Cruz-Ortiz, age 20, was killed Monday morning in a serious crash along Route 8 in Shelton, according to state police. The deadly incident occurred shortly after 9 a.m. on the northbound side of Route 8 near Exit 12A.

Authorities said the vehicle left the roadway for reasons still under investigation, struck a light pole, and rolled over off the highway. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, where Oliver Armando Cruz-Ortiz was pronounced dead.

Police identified the vehicle involved as an Infiniti Q50, which had previously been reported stolen out of Newark, New Jersey. Investigators have not released additional details about what led to the crash.

State police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dash camera footage from the area at the time to contact Trooper Patrick Miko with any information that could assist the investigation.
