Brekyra Fisher was killed in a shooting at Alcorn State University in Lorman, Mississippi, authorities confirmed. Brekyra Fisher, 29, a native of Vicksburg, was pronounced dead after the incident, according to the Claiborne County Coroner.

The shooting occurred Saturday evening around 6:30 p.m. near the Industrial Technology Building on the Alcorn State campus. When law enforcement officers arrived, they found three people suffering from gunshot wounds at the scene.

Fisher was identified as the victim who died from her injuries, while two other individuals were transported for medical treatment. Officials confirmed that Fisher’s family was notified following her death.

Shortly after the shooting, Alcorn State University issued an emergency alert warning students and staff to shelter in place and remain in secure locations until campus police gave an all-clear.

The incident remained under investigation as authorities worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No additional details were immediately released.
