Fatal Richmond, Virginia car crash death of Donald Jaciuk – Obituary
Donald Jaciuk, a Richmond resident, was killed after being struck by a dump truck while walking through a marked crosswalk on West Leigh Street, according to police. Donald Jaciuk was 64 years old at the time of his death, which occurred Tuesday afternoon in the city of Richmond.
Authorities said Jaciuk was crossing West Leigh Street in a northbound direction with the pedestrian walk signal activated around 1:43 p.m. when a dump truck turned left from North Harrison Street onto West Leigh Street and hit him.
Police reported that the driver of the dump truck, an adult male, stayed at the scene following the collision and cooperated with investigators. Emergency responders were called, but Jaciuk succumbed to his injuries.
At this stage of the investigation, no criminal charges have been filed. Richmond Police continue to review the circumstances surrounding the crash.
