Corey D. Jones, a 43-year-old Vancouver resident, was identified as the man killed in a shooting outside a local sports bar last weekend, according to the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Officials ruled Corey D. Jones’ death a homicide, determining that he died from multiple gunshot wounds sustained during the incident.
The shooting occurred on Jan. 3 outside the Off-Ramp Sports Bar in Vancouver. Police said they were dispatched to the scene after reports of gunfire and discovered Jones deceased in the parking lot upon arrival.
Witnesses told investigators that Jones had been involved in a verbal dispute with another man moments before shots were fired. The suspect left the area before officers arrived.
Authorities later identified the suspect as 28-year-old Jared D. Taylor. Police said Taylor surrendered himself the following day and was taken into custody.
Taylor has been charged with second-degree murder and unlawful possession of a firearm. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue to review evidence and witness statements.
