Fatal Muldrow, Oklahoma shooting death of Derek Marshall – Obituary
Derek Marshall, a 30-year-old man, was found dead in the Arkansas River in mid-November after being shot multiple times, law enforcement officials said.
His body was recovered on Nov. 14, 2025, prompting a homicide investigation by the Van Buren Police Department, which asked the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to take over the case.
Investigators determined that Marshall had been killed on Nov. 5, 2025, in Muldrow, Oklahoma, and that his death was the result of gunshot wounds.
The probe into the circumstances of his death led authorities to arrest five individuals. Danny Goad, 59, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon; he was already jailed on unrelated charges at the Muskogee County Jail.
Four other suspects were arrested for alleged roles in the events following the killing: Jason Quick, 46; Jerry Pratt, 56; and Rhonda Jeremiah, 56, were booked on charges of accessory after the fact, while Nathern England, 56, was booked on a charge of obstructing an officer at the Sequoyah County Jail.
Authorities continue to investigate the case as they gather more evidence and work to piece together the full sequence of events that led to Marshall’s death.
