Fairfax County police have confirmed the identity of the man killed in a hit-and-run incident on Wednesday, January 7, in Huntington. The victim, Demarko Shamsiddin, 34, was found in the roadway at the intersection of Richmond Highway and Mount Eagle Drive at 9:48 p.m. that evening. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators report that video footage captured earlier in the evening showed Shamsiddin acting erratically in the street, including lying down and performing push-ups. Shortly thereafter, a dark-colored sedan traveling on Richmond Highway struck him and fled the scene. Shamsiddin was subsequently hit by additional vehicles, but none of the drivers remained at the scene.

The Fairfax County Crash Reconstruction Unit is working to identify all the involved vehicles and their drivers. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the police at (703) 280-0543.
