Gerald Strong Jr., a 67-year-old man from Little Hocking, Ohio, was killed Wednesday morning in a multi-vehicle accident on U.S. 50 in Belpre Township. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. when Strong, riding a motorized scooter, attempted to enter the highway from Arrowhead Road and collided with an eastbound Jeep Wrangler.
After the initial impact, Strong was separated from the scooter and struck by a Ford Escape and subsequently a Ram 3500. He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities noted that alcohol and drugs are not suspected to have played a role in the crash.
The incident involved multiple agencies, including the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and local emergency services. The crash remains under investigation, and the accident caused delays for families on their way to Belpre City Schools.
