Fatal Evansville car crash death of Quinton Wagner – Obituary
Quinton Wagner, 31, has been identified as the man who lost his life in a single-vehicle crash early Friday morning in Evansville, according to the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office.
The crash occurred around 5:45 a.m. near the intersection of Stringtown Road and Cardinal Drive. Chief Deputy Coroner Amy Miller confirmed that Wagner was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency crews were dispatched after reports indicated that a red SUV had broken through a fence separating the Pigeon Creek Greenway from a grassy embankment. The greenway, which serves as a paved bike path alongside Cardinal Drive, runs above a slope that leads down toward Pigeon Creek.
Investigators said the SUV sustained heavy damage and came to rest partway down the embankment after leaving the roadway. Police and paramedics responded quickly, but Wagner did not survive the impact.
The Evansville Police Department continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash. At this time, officials have not released information regarding what may have caused the vehicle to leave the road.
