Terry Purvis, a 27-year-old man from Rincon, Georgia, was identified as the victim who lost his life in a violent two-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon in Garden City.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:26 p.m. on State Route 26, also known as Highway 80, near the intersection of Sharon Park Drive. According to the Georgia State Patrol, troopers from Post 42 and the Nighthawks South unit responded to the scene after receiving reports of a serious wreck.
Investigators said a Nissan Titan traveling eastbound failed to stay within its lane, crossed through the continuous center turn lane, and entered the westbound side of the highway. The vehicle then struck a Ford F-150 head-on.
