Willie Smith, 61, lost his life Friday evening following a serious collision involving multiple vehicles in Greene County. The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. on U.S. 43 near Choctaw Road in the Eutaw area, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Authorities said Smith was driving a car that collided with an SUV operated by Kaydence Clark, 19. Investigators noted that Smith was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Clark was transported to a hospital for treatment after the crash but later succumbed to her injuries, officials confirmed.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
