Angie Rios, a 19-year-old woman, was identified as the victim who lost her life in a deadly freeway collision in the Sylmar area, authorities confirmed on Monday.
The fatal crash occurred early Sunday morning at approximately 5:10 a.m. on the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway near the Polk Street off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident involved a semi-truck and a Tesla, resulting in severe damage at the scene.
Emergency responders arrived to find Rios critically injured. She was pronounced dead at the location of the crash before she could be transported for further medical care. Officials later reported that she suffered blunt force injuries as a result of the collision.
Firefighters and paramedics worked alongside CHP officers to recover her body from the wreckage. The Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner released her name following notification procedures. Details regarding her city of residence were not immediately available.
