Anthony G. Tzemopoulos dies in fatal Belvidere, Illinois pedestrian crash

Fatal Belvidere, Illinois pedestrian crash death of Anthony G. Tzemopoulos – Obituary

Anthony G. Tzemopoulos, 41, of Belvidere, Illinois, was killed Saturday evening after being struck by a car while walking near Olson Road and Sheffield Drive. The crash occurred just after 7 p.m. on January 10.

Authorities report that 19-year-old Trevor W. Tosh, also of Belvidere, was driving south on Olson Road and moved into the northbound lane to pass another vehicle when he struck Tzemopoulos. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Tosh suffered minor injuries and was taken into custody.

Tosh faces charges of aggravated driving under the influence causing death and driving under the influence of alcohol. Investigations are ongoing.
