Authorities in Gonzales have apprehended a suspect in connection with the shooting death of 25-year-old John Anthony Wilson. Breeze Michael Sincere, 23, was identified as the shooter and was arrested on January 13, 2026. The arrest occurred in Jefferson Parish, where the suspect was taken into custody without resistance and later transported to the Ascension Parish Jail.

The shooting took place on January 12, 2026, at a parking area along West Highway 30 in Gonzales. Following the incident, local detectives worked alongside the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office to locate Sincere. He was booked on charges of second-degree murder, though further charges could be added as the investigation progresses.
