Joseph Green, a 67-year-old man from Pennsylvania, was killed Monday night in a collision involving a lawn mower in Cross, South Carolina, officials confirmed.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a 2013 Honda Civic traveling west on Old Highway 6 struck Green, who was operating a lawn mower in the roadway. Emergency responders pronounced Green dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the Honda was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries. Both the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office are investigating the incident to determine the exact circumstances that led to the fatal collision.
