Fatal Martin County crash death of Lediar R. Morejon Cabrera – Obituary

MARTIN COUNTY, Texas — Lediar R. Morejon Cabrera, a 21-year-old Odessa man, tragically lost his life in a crash involving two semi-trucks on January 12. The collision occurred around 8:45 a.m. at the intersection of FM 829 and FM 3113. Investigators say Cabrera, driving a 2003 Freightliner, was following a 2015 International semi when the International slowed down to turn east onto FM 3113. Cabrera was unable to control his speed, and his Freightliner struck the other truck’s trailer.

Cabrera, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, was transported to Martin County Hospital, where he was declared dead. The other driver, 48-year-old Yunior Gonzalez of Odessa, was unharmed in the incident. The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the crash.
