Fatal Whitley County car crash death of Emily Franks – Obituary

Authorities in Whitley County, Indiana, have confirmed that 31-year-old Emily Franks of Kendallville was killed in a collision on State Road 9 Wednesday evening.

The crash occurred around 6:15 p.m. near County Road 300 North when the SUV Franks was driving lost control, crossed into the southbound lane, and collided with an oncoming truck.

Franks died at the scene. Two young passengers in the SUV, a 1-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy, also lost their lives in the crash.

The truck driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances of the accident.
