Hugh E. Edwards dies in fatal LaSalle Parish boating accident

Fatal LaSalle Parish boating accident death of Hugh E. Edwards – Obituary

Hugh E. Edwards, 69, of Jena, died after a boating incident on Little River in LaSalle Parish on January 12. His body was discovered the following day around 1:30 p.m. and was turned over to the LaSalle Parish Coroner’s Office.

Authorities from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries reported that Edwards was found without a life jacket. Agents had been alerted about a missing boater at approximately 9:30 p.m. on January 12 and located Edwards’ unattended aluminum boat around 10:15 p.m.

The circumstances leading to Edwards going overboard remain unclear, and the LDWF continues to investigate the fatal incident.
