Fatal Washington State Prison deaths of Jimmy Trammell, Ahmond Hatcher, Teddy Dwayne Jackson, and Dajhmere Hall – Obituary
Four inmates lost their lives in less than a week at Washington State Prison near Davisboro, Georgia, in separate incidents, authorities confirmed. On Jan. 11, violent fights near the prison’s visitor area left three men dead: Jimmy Trammell, 42; Ahmond Hatcher, 23; and Teddy Dwayne Jackson, 27. Just two days earlier, Dajhmere Hall was found unresponsive in his cell under circumstances that may not have involved foul play.
Preliminary reports indicate the deaths of Trammell, Hatcher, and Jackson are being treated as homicides, though the exact cause and manner of death will be determined after autopsies are conducted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. In contrast, Hall’s death is under investigation pending autopsy results.
Trammell had been scheduled for release after serving a 10-year sentence for a felony conviction. The deadly altercations occurred while family members were visiting other inmates, and an on-duty corrections officer attempted to secure the visitor area as inmates tried to escape the chaos. Twelve additional inmates and corrections staff were injured and hospitalized, though their identities have not been disclosed.
Authorities continue to investigate the incidents, and comments from the Georgia Department of Corrections were not available at the time of reporting.
