Fatal Elmira shooting death of Joshua A. Tappan – Obituary

Joshua A. Tappan, 46, of Elmira, died after being critically injured in a late-night shooting in downtown Elmira, police confirmed. He had been hospitalized in serious condition following the incident.

The Elmira Police Department reported that officers responded around 9:20 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, to the Centertown Parking Garage following a report of a possible shooting. Tappan was found with severe injuries and transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
