Fatal Wichita Falls pedestrian accident death of Mary Perez – Obituary

Mary Perez, a 70-year-old woman, tragically lost her life Tuesday afternoon after being struck in the school pick-up line outside Crockett Elementary School in Wichita Falls. The incident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on Arthur Street, just north of US-277 and west of I-44.

According to police, Perez, the grandmother of a student, attempted to cross the street when she became pinned between two Hyundai SUVs.

The driver of the rear SUV accidentally accelerated, striking both Perez and the SUV in front of it. Perez was transported to an area hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The two drivers involved in the crash sustained minor injuries, though it is unclear if they required hospitalization. Authorities have launched a full investigation into the incident.
