Fatal Montgomery County car crash death of Michael Patrick Fitzgerald Jr. – Obituary

Michael Patrick Fitzgerald Jr., 28, of Germantown, was killed early Wednesday morning in a crash that sent his vehicle into a tree in Montgomery County, Maryland.

The accident occurred around 1:20 a.m. on January 14 at the junction of Bethesda Church Road and Johnson Drive. Authorities discovered Fitzgerald inside his 2025 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross after it had collided with the tree. Emergency responders rushed him to a hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

Initial findings from the Montgomery County Police Department suggest that the SUV veered off Bethesda Church Road before striking the tree. Investigators have not yet determined whether factors such as speed or alcohol contributed to the crash.
