Fatal Deer Park car crash death of Richard Krzysztofiak – Obituary

Richard Krzysztofiak, 95, of Palatine, Illinois, was killed Tuesday afternoon after being struck while attending to his disabled vehicle in Deer Park. The incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. near the intersection of Lake Cook Road and Quentin Road.

Police reported that Krzysztofiak’s car had broken down in the center lane, and he exited the vehicle to check on it when another car collided with his vehicle. Emergency responders found him lying in the roadway and pronounced him dead at the scene. An autopsy confirmed that he died from blunt force injuries sustained in the crash.

The condition of the other driver involved has not been released. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team is conducting a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
