Fatal Charlotte, North Carolina shooting death of Elijah Vashon Parker – Obituary

Elijah Vashon Parker, 23, was killed Wednesday afternoon following a shooting just north of uptown Charlotte, according to local authorities.

Emergency crews were called to the Alpha Mill apartment complex on Alpha Mill Lane near Brevard Street at about 3:30 p.m. Medic officials reported that Parker was found outside the complex suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said investigators located narcotics in the area during their response. At this time, officers have not confirmed whether Parker lived at the apartment complex or was passing through the area when the shooting occurred.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or has information about possible suspects to come forward as the case remains under active investigation.
