Jude Espazien, 50, of Roslindale, died Thursday morning after his vehicle left the road on Summer Street (Route 126) in Medway and crashed into a front yard near Amelia Drive. The car caught fire, and bystanders pulled Espazien from the burning vehicle before he was transported to Milford Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Medway Police reported that the vehicle struck a utility pole and a granite-bottomed mailbox, narrowly missing a nearby home. The crash, which occurred around 8:50 a.m., remains under investigation, though the exact cause has not been determined. Authorities noted that the car was traveling at a high rate of speed and the incident was unwitnessed.
