Everett Martin, a 65-year-old contractor from Tilton, New Hampshire, was killed after being struck by a pickup truck while working in a construction zone on the Spaulding Turnpike, state police confirmed.

New Hampshire State Police said the fatal incident occurred on January 16 between exits 8 and 9 on the turnpike. Martin was working at the site when he was hit by a pickup truck being driven by another worker in the area.

Authorities stated that Martin suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders attempted lifesaving measures, but he did not survive.

The vehicle involved was identified as a 2020 Ford Super Duty pickup truck operated by a 35-year-old man from Manchester. As of Friday afternoon, no criminal charges had been filed in connection with the incident.

State police noted that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash remains ongoing. Officials also said it was not immediately clear which company employed Martin at the time of his death.
