Fatal Rochester, Minnesota house fire death of Gregory Dison – Obituary
Gregory Dison, 60, and Duane Kari, 60, were killed Friday night in a residential fire on the 800 block of Fox Point Lane Southwest in Rochester, Minnesota, authorities confirmed. Firefighters from multiple Rochester Fire Department units responded to heavy smoke and flames at the large single-family home.
Crews used handlines to fight the fire inside and outside the structure and located the victims in the garage. Despite emergency personnel’s lifesaving efforts, both were pronounced dead at the scene. The fire, which originated in the garage and attic, caused extensive damage.
The State Fire Marshal is assisting Rochester’s Fire Marshal Division in investigating the cause of the fire, and the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office is determining the official cause of death. Funeral services for Dison are scheduled for January 23 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, while a celebration of life for Kari will be held April 18 at Whistle Binkies on The Lake.
