Fatal Jackson, Michigan shooting death of Isaiah Ramos-Bostwick – Obituary
Isaiah Ramos-Bostwick, 16, of Jackson, Michigan, was killed early Thursday morning, Jan. 15, after being shot outside a home on Harris Street. A 13-year-old boy has been charged in connection with the shooting, while a 15-year-old who was also at the scene was released to a parent.
Jackson police said the incident occurred at 514 Harris Street, northeast of downtown, where Ramos-Bostwick was struck in the face by gunfire and transported to Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, where he later died. Authorities reported that the two teens fled on foot but were located about a mile away after a K-9 search and arrested without incident.
The 13-year-old suspect is being held at the Jackson County Youth Center and faces charges including first-degree premeditated murder, felony murder, armed robbery, firearm larceny, and carrying a firearm to commit a felony. Because of his age, he is charged as a juvenile, though the case is being handled in a way that allows proceedings similar to adult court. His next hearing is scheduled for Jan. 26 before Jackson County Probate and Family Court Judge Jennifer Kelly.
