Fatal Pleasant Township, Ohio crash death of Jarett Catlin – Obituary

Jarett Catlin, 33, of Scott, Ohio, was killed on January 15, 2026, in a single-vehicle crash on Marsh Road near U.S. Route 224 in Pleasant Township, Van Wert County.

Authorities reported that Catlin’s northbound 2007 Ford Focus veered off the left side of the road, crossed the center line, and left the roadway on the right, striking a utility pole.

Catlin was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators noted he was not wearing a seat belt, and alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, with assistance from local agencies including the Van Wert Police Department, Van Wert County Coroner’s Office, and emergency services, continues to investigate the circumstances of the fatal collision.
