Fatal Hartford shooting death of Teixeira Dorival – Obituary
Hartford police have confirmed that Teixeira Dorival, a 26-year-old resident of the city, lost his life following a shooting late Friday afternoon on Francis Avenue.
Officers were sent to the 100 block of Francis Avenue at about 6 p.m. after reports of gunfire, according to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department. When police arrived, they discovered Dorival suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was initially reported to be in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Authorities said no suspects have been taken into custody at this time. The investigation is being handled by the department’s Major Crimes Unit along with the Crime Scene Division.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information related to the shooting to contact Hartford investigators as the case remains under active review.
