Fatal Chesterfield County scooter crash death of Angelica Vargas Pita – Obituary

Angelica Vargas Pita, 25, of Chesterfield County, was killed Sunday evening after being struck by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter. The accident occurred around 9:22 p.m. on January 18 at the intersection of Route 60 and Branchway Road.

Officers arriving at the scene found Pita in the roadway and provided aid until rescue personnel transported her to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead from her injuries. Preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle collided with her scooter while both were traveling in the lanes on Route 60.

The driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Chesterfield County Police continue to investigate the crash and request anyone with information to call 804-748-1251.
