Deron Johnson dies in fatal Meriden shooting

Fatal Meriden shooting death of Deron Johnson – Obituary

Deron Johnson, 22, was killed Monday in a shooting near the intersection of Cook Avenue and Summer Street in Meriden. Officers responded around 12:05 p.m. after reports of a person shot and found Johnson with at least one gunshot wound.

Emergency responders provided lifesaving care at the scene before Johnson was transported by the Meriden Fire Department to MidState Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. The Meriden Police Department has notified his family and is conducting an active investigation through its Detective Division, following up on all available leads.
