Authorities in Jefferson County have confirmed the identity of the teenager who lost his life in a late-night shooting at an Amazon Fulfillment Center in Bessemer. The victim, Tyler Neil Alexander, 19, of Birmingham, was fatally wounded during a violent encounter at the workplace.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Alexander was shot during an assault while he was on duty at the facility. The incident occurred in the parking area of the fulfillment center, where he sustained fatal gunshot injuries.
Bessemer police officers were dispatched to the scene around 10:40 p.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival, they discovered Alexander unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead at the location.
Alexander was a graduate of Huffman High School and had been employed at the Amazon center at the time of the shooting. Investigators have not announced any arrests, and no suspects have been taken into custody as the investigation continues.
