Fatal Decatur shooting death of Zacharia Wikoff – Obituary

Zacharia Wikoff, 46, was killed in a shooting early Sunday morning in east Decatur. Police were called just after 4 a.m. to the area near East Wood Street and South Maffit Street following reports of gunfire close to Krekel’s on Wood Street.

Officers discovered Wikoff with gunshot wounds and rushed him to Decatur Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities are actively seeking the person responsible, and the investigation remains ongoing.
