Fatal Fort Worth sidewalk shooting death of Fabian Abernathy – Obituary

Fabian Abernathy, 47, was fatally shot on a Fort Worth sidewalk last week after reportedly trespassing on private property. Police and the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office confirmed that Abernathy was found on the ground outside the residence after the shooter called 911.

Authorities said officers responded around 6 a.m. on January 12 to the 3400 block of Avenue L, where a potential trespassing incident had escalated into a shooting. According to police, the property owner saw Abernathy attempting to enter a locked garage and confronted him, instructing him to leave the property before the shooting occurred.

Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
