Fatal Cleveland shooting death of Kereem Lockett – Obituary
Kereem Lockett was killed in a shooting Monday afternoon in Cleveland, authorities confirmed. Kereem Lockett, 17, died after suffering a gunshot wound and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
According to Cleveland police, officers responded around 2:13 p.m. on January 19 to reports of a shooting in the 2900 block of East 123rd Street. When police arrived, they found Lockett injured by gunfire.
Cleveland EMS transported the teenager to University Hospitals, where he was pronounced deceased despite medical efforts.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office released Lockett’s identity early Wednesday morning. The Cleveland Police Department’s homicide unit has taken over the case and continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
