Macree’s mother, Latouris Bell, said she was inside preparing for work when the incident happened, and his 9-year-old brother witnessed the crash. Family members expressed shock and sorrow, questioning how the driver did not see the children playing nearby.

A kindergartner at Callaway Elementary School, Macree was described as energetic and full of joy. Troup County Schools confirmed counseling services will be available for students affected by the tragedy. The family shared that Macree loved Spider-Man and plans are underway for a Spider-Man-themed funeral to honor his memory.
