Pierino Liberta dies in fatal East Northport car crash

Fatal East Northport car crash death of Pierino Liberta – Obituary

Pierino Liberta, 81, of St. James, was killed Monday night after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Larkfield Road in East Northport.

Suffolk County Police reported that Liberta was walking from west to east near 332 Larkfield Road around 10:50 p.m. when he was hit by a 2020 Subaru Outback driven by 19-year-old Jack Sandin of Northport. Liberta was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

The vehicle involved was impounded for a safety inspection. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
