Roanoke, Virginia Man Samuel Peitit Davis Arrested in Roanoke for Fatal Shooting
ROANOKE, VA — Samuel Peitit Davis, a 49-year-old resident of Roanoke, was arrested in Roanoke in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred under the Tazewell Bridge.
According to the Roanoke Police Department, Davis was taken into custody on Tuesday night after officers responded to a report of a shooting around 9 p.m. in the 300 block of Tazewell Avenue SE. Authorities say the incident took place on January 20 and involved a confrontation between Davis and 24-year-old Erick Telsaint, who was walking under the bridge. Police said the encounter escalated from an argument into a physical fight before the shooting occurred. Telsaint, who had no fixed address, died at the scene from gunshot wounds.
Davis was transported to the Roanoke City Jail and is currently facing a charge of second-degree murder.
